Osama Bin Laden, North Africa and the Middle East, Japan, the Royal Wedding... With world events competing for headlines, nobody's paying any attention to the Ivory Coast, these days. But the miserable situation there continues, one consequence being a desperate medical crisis with a complete absence of basic medicines at most hospitals. For us, this has been brought into sharp focus by requests we've received from news correspondents for individual cases needing urgent medical supplies. We've done our best to help, but the world seems oblivious, with no real pressure for much-needed humanitarian aid. This used to be a thriving, prosperous country, a delight to visit. Tragic.
