Standard Well Woman
Duration: 45 minutes
This medical is performed by a doctor and includes the following:
- Full medical history, which includes family history. At this stage, and at all stages during the medical, the patient has the opportunity to discuss any health concerns that she may have.
- Height and weight are measured and body mass index is determined, which is a clinically accepted indicator of potential health problems associated with being overweight.
- Blood pressure.
- Breast Examination.
- Cervical smear and pelvic examination.
- Urine test to screen for abnormalities that may be due to diabetes, an infection or kidney problems.
- Blood test, which includes haemoglobin level, liver function, kidney function, diabetes screening test and cholesterol levels. Thyroid function is also measured as a part of this blood test.
