Ovarian Cancer: How to Spot the Symptoms

01 Mar 2018

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

“In the UK a woman dies every two hours from ovarian cancer, but the earlier the diagnosis the better the chances” Professor Hani Gabra – Director of Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre.

It is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and at Fleet Street Clinic we are working to support this important cause, with fundraising activities planned and information sharing to patients at the clinic. We are also offering a special medical offer for ovarian cancer screening, valid throughout March.

Ovarian Cancer is notoriously difficult to spot, with non-specific symptoms in the early stages.

How to recognise the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

Early Ovarian Cancer symptoms can be similar to those of other conditions, these are some to watch out for:

  • Persistent Bloating
  • Pain in the lower stomach and pelvis
  • Difficulty Eating
  • Back pain
  • Fatigue
  • Change in urinary/ bowel habits

If you experience any of these symptoms, please see your GP to rule out ovarian cancer.

If you want peace of mind or would like to rule out any symptoms, you can get an Ovarian Cancer screening medical at Fleet Street Clinic. Throughout March, we will be offering an Ovarian Medical for £135 with ultrasound (if recommended) at £225 plus CA125 blood test at £191 (if recommended). Tell the women in your life.
