China

China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and an important commercial hub for many businesses located in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. It is also home to some of the most incredible sights; the terracotta warriors in Xi’an, the Great Wall of China, the Yangtze River and the rice terraces in Longji. Whether you are visiting China for business or pleasure, it is important to make sure you have sought pre-travel advice to ensure you stay healthy whilst abroad.

It is recommended that all travellers are up to date with their routine immunisations. All travellers should ensure that they have received a vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus and polio in the last 10 years. All travellers are advised to ensure they have been vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Typhoid.

There is no risk of Yellow Fever, however proof of vaccination will be required if entering from a country that has a risk of Yellow Fever.

There may be a need for additional immunisations. Depending on the nature of the trip, destinations visited, duration of travel and activities, other vaccinations could be considered. These include:-

There is low/no risk of malaria in China and therefore anti-malarial medication is not advised.

Prevention against insect bites is essential.

Precautions against food and water borne illnesses should be sought.
